Thank you B.B. King
What inspires me about B.B. King's music is that it comes from an understanding of great friendship and conversation. B.B. King's music gives a listener time to breath, to recollect what you just heard and to respond. I often share with my students that improvisation (jamming) should mimic a friendly exchange. Appreciate the pauses, fluctuation in volume, the rhythm of speech patterns, the dynamics and you will likely find a way to express it musically. B.B. King is a gentlemen who invites you in to a warm fire that flirts with going out of control but stays in the fireplace to warm the soul.
Please enjoy a track from my album "Where It Started" called "No More Blues" with Allan Phillips on keys, Jeff Basile on bass and Kevin Koch on drums.
Thank you for the inspiration B.B. King, RIP.
